About Pittsburgh Dance Week
The dance community of Pittsburgh will unite during the second week of April to celebrate and showcase the talent, creativity, and diversity of the regions dance scene. An initiative in 2018 by Nick M. Daniels of the DANA Movement Ensemble to revive the festival after many years, Dance Week is marking its second consecutive year with performances at venues across the city and neighboring areas. In a proclamation declaring April 8 “Pittsburgh Dance Week” in the City of Pittsburgh, Mayor William Peduto stated “Pittsburgh’s Dance Week is enjoying a rebirth with the goal to demonstrate the diversity and strength of our City’s dance community".
Corona Virus Update (updated 4/4/20)
As with everything else, Pittsburgh Dance Week is dealing with the current Corona Virus pandemic with a wait and see approach. With the situation changing daily, we are unable to predict the effects this will have on the schedule of events. We will update any events with the most current information when it becomes available, so keep checking back here as well as on Facebook . Also check out this article in the Post-Gazette. In the meantime we wish that everyone stay safe and healthy as we navigate through this crisis together.
